Why we chose to address this problem:

  1. Reducing Food Waste: Restaurants often end up with surplus food that goes to waste. By connecting surplus with consumers, we help minimize this waste.
  2. Promoting Sustainability: Transforming surplus into affordable mystery bags supports sustainable practices and reduces the environmental impact of unused food.
  3. Affordability for Consumers: Budget-conscious consumers benefit from access to quality meals at reduced prices, making dining out more accessible.
  4. Revenue Generation for Restaurants: Restaurants can monetize surplus food, generating additional revenue while lowering waste disposal costs.
  5. Enhanced Customer Experience: Offering mystery bags creates an element of surprise and excitement, enriching the dining experience.

User Research

To design a platform that truly meets the needs of both restaurants and consumers, we conducted in-depth user research. Our goal was to understand the challenges restaurants face with surplus food management and the motivations that would drive consumers to seek affordable meal options.

Through surveys, interviews, and competitive analysis, we gathered valuable insights that shaped Nooze’s features and user experience. This research helped us refine our approach to ensuring food quality, streamlining restaurant participation, and making it effortless for users to discover and purchase mystery bags.
